Hello Lovely. I’m sitting at a diner waiting for a friend who wants to hear all about you. Here’s my problem: I’m always afraid to tell the truth because both Brian and I find it INCOMPREHENSIBLE that all of your clients are treated as special as we were!!!
After two weeks back to reality, here are the highlights that still stick and some personal opinions about each destination:
Inn at the Spanish Steps…. Our penthouse was extraordinary and it came with a butler. The breakfast was good … The hotel was very clean, the linens and towels were amazing and turn down service was great.
Monteverdi….I can’t wait to see if Conde Nast rates this jewel as #1 or #2 for Tuscan destinations…The charm, history and landscape of Monteverdi is simply unmatched. The staff (especially the restaurant and bar) were brilliant, as was the food. Like, really, really delicious. The rooms are large, fun and clean. Very earthy, organic, great
JKPlace…Remarkable concierge. Serena (with only 11 hours notice) got us sold out tickets to both Uffizi and Academia with private tour guide. Excellent breakfast.
Our room had a great gadget to plug in all phone and computer items (No converter necessary), and staff came to tidy up at LEAST 3 times a day……crazy clean and beautiful linens…..each guest receives a signature bottle of their room fragrance (lovely touch). There’s a stunning 4th floor hang out …..and their salads are truly and honestly the best salads I have eaten ANYWHERE in the world. I actually ordered 3 of them
Eco del Mare…So laid back…no one shows up on time but doesn’t matter because the location is so mellow and special. Food good. ..I would return in a heartbeat.
Our day on the boat was probably our most memorable day. I think it would benefit you and your clients immensely if you INSISTED that they do special day trips like this and book them. It was worth every penny and could never be recreated. The captain was so so wicked….he took Brian cave diving and then invited us for cocktails in his town after sunset. Alex and Valeria’s hospitality will never be forgotten.
The Bauer…Talk about ending on a high note……our suite was huge, ornate, gorgeous…….but the SIX terraces………..OMG…..I’m not sure how you ever pulled it off, and we really didn’t feel worthy of it but it was the bestest!!! We ordered room service for dinner on the first night because we had the best view ever ( so why not enjoy it in lingerie while watching George Clooney’s wedding party float by!!)) and the food was so so perfect that we decided to dine in again the next night……and we were even more impressed…I was also totally impressed with the owner’s passion and contribution to the city of Venice and her environmentalism..
The manager of the hotel was very attentive and the breakfast buffet was huge and yummy.
Most important – your brilliant level of personalized service, your strategic thinking and foresight for potential complications, your immediate response to email (day or night) and your amazing smile will always be the most memorable part of our trip. I can only hope that we find family and friends who one day will also get to experience ALL THAT YOU ARE!!!
